Port St Lucie and SPOOKED

#1 Postby incogneato » Mon Aug 30, 2004 9:28 pm

Just popping in to /wave and say hi. And to say thanks to everyone for the wonderful (and sometimes *very* entertaining  ) info/posts.

Watching Frances VERY closely here, and while we're trying not to be alarmists, we're trying to plot out our plan of action if she does end up heading too close for comfort.

We're contemplating whether to stay or go if she does make landfall near us - we aren't in a flood zone or a coastal area; our house is CBS and built within the last 3 years; but this storm scares the heebie-jeebies out of me...Of course if there is an evacuation order we WILL go, but hopefully it will be a moot point anyway (crossing fingers).

Then the question becomes WHERE to evacuate to :P South isn't the best option (Andrew was on a course directly to US and then bobbled at the last minute to Miami), West just got clobbered and probably isn't the best choice either, so it looks as though North thru the center of the state might be an option.

Any other Martin/St Lucie ppl out there with a plan? Or a prayer? :P

sending good wishes of safety to all,
'Neato
