It has done well thus far. IT missed badly with Charley though.

Yeah but it nailed Floyd. Which was a semi-similar situation.

This has me worried... it has been on the money now for TOO many runs in a row...

In the never dying spirit of the hard working Dunkin' Donut guy from the 90's comercials... its time to put up the shutters... its time to get final supplies... time to make the coffee... i mean... hahaa

lol

Eric. I really think Miami is going to get this cane. I have been saying it for days. Please take all the needed precautions. In my opinion the only thing up in the air is where it goes after hitting Miami.

ECMWF also nailed Isabel last year several days out. Maybe someone else remembers how many days it was.

This forecast depends on a very strong ridge to steer Frances WNW near the end of the track. The trough over Louisiana continue to push east leaving dry air behind it in northern Louisiana. If the trough lifts out and the ridge over florida builds back west by thursday the Euro track would be possible. We will have a better idea of which orientation of the ridge verifies tomorrow.

For all of the whining, it is interesting to note that of the global models, the 5AM NHC track is right now closest to the....ECMWF and Canadian models.

The NHC track is much closer to the ECMWF than the GFS.

(The 06 NOGAPS has moved to a South Carolina landfall.)
