white knuckles in central fla

#1 Postby Holly93 » Tue Aug 31, 2004 6:25 am

we are as ready as we can be, plywood, canned food, water, etc....what i fear the most is getting stuck in the evac traffic....to get to the Gulf side from here is nothing but two lane roads...i'd hate to be trapped on I-95 either. damned if we leave and damned if we stay.....i'm pretty scared, ya'll...

It's one thing to be at home(2800 miles away) and watch this, but sitting in Ft Meyers and watching is an education. Now i have the problem deciding when to leave etc. Nervous am I.

This certainly seems like Floyd Part 2.

The scary part is, if I lived in Florida, I'd be tempted to stay put.
And then what would happen if I was wrong?

The reason I chose to evacuate for Floyd is because I was staring into the eyes of a killer...and blinked.

It could enter anywhere on the east coast of Florida at this point. If we evacuate we could be going right in it's path. We will probably wait till the last minute and then blast out west on Bridge Road and then go under the lake or over the lake depending on the angle the storm enters and then head either south towards Marco Island or North along the west coast. I am hoping those back country roads remain clear of traffic.

No offense. But your boss is a retard.

Putting $$$ in front of the safety of the employees and your customers.

Classy.
