Stop all these people I disagree with...

I am completely sick of most, if not all, of you Carolinians predicting a landfall in the Carolinas. Even some Floridians and people from New Orleans are -removed-.

Another thing that really ticks me off though, is that the meteorologists are not following any of the consistent models, such as Euro. Even worse, they hide most of the information from the general public. This is just a sign of NHC beaucracy at its finest.

From the latest satellite images, Frances is staying south of the projected path. From the NHC's latest 5 PM model, Frances is supposed to take a WNW/NW turn soon. I don't see that happening any time soon. On Sunday, the NHC reported in its discussions that there would be no significant weakness in the trough. Now it is once again disagreeing. Frances is also moving faster than the NHC's expectations. Yet, they have not considered this change much into their newest forecast models.

Last, whatever happened to "Herbert Box" speculations? Afterall, Frances moved well into the perimeters of this box.

I would prefer if some knowledgeable people responded to this message instead of biased ignorant people I disagree with.

I can see where Windfall is coming from. Now need for the sarcasm in response to her opinion on the matter.

Well for one thing, the wishcast forcasts for Florida seem to outnumber the Carolinas about 5 to 1. Second, sometimes you don't always follow the models exactly, they are rarely correct this far out even if they are consistant, and finally I'm getting quite tired of the -removed- in general. If this thing hits anywhere its going to kill a lot of people and cause extreme damage. Yet everytime the model shifts in any direction people freak out with what are they talking about or Steve Lyons must be an idiot. I'm sorry to rant, it just seems thats it been more present for this storm then any since I have been here. I am sorry if this is a bad post and if it needs to be removed I understand, I just needed to say my peace in response.

THIS board is for all! Wishcaster or not, ALL opinions are welcome.

I don't think it is very nice to call people "ignorant" just because they have an opinion that you happen to not like!

Well, if I were -removed-, I'd be calling it a lot further north than I have. One Cat. 5 in my lifetime was more than enough for me.

As it is, I'm sticking with the same thing I've been saying since Friday - Palm Beach +/- 100 miles.

That's more of a "guesscast" than a "wishcast". :-)

I'm sorry, I just keep seeing a trend of the people that freak out when the tracks shift from one area to the other are the ones who were just in the storm track. Of course everyone is welcome to their opinion, I just get mad when people freak out because someone is suggesting a track that doesn't quite match up with their view. I guess its getting to me now because one way or the other this storm is coming and as big as it is it may not matter all that much where it hits unfortunately.

It will matter where it hits, and I think that we're all (all of us on the SE coast of the US) a little freaked out by this storm. I mean, honestly - it's a minimum of a cat. 4 right now, heading for somewhere in the SE U.S in potentially 3-4 days. That's a freaky, scary situation. We're all trying to give our thoughts, gut instincts, opinions, etc. on where it'll go. I can't imagine anyone actually wishing for this storm, but some people might have gut feelings about it...I know I do & I have had since it was formed. Everyone is entitled to think what they wish, and we should ALL be grateful for that opportunity. I don't think getting upset about people voicing opinions is any better than them voicing the opinion. I find it interesting to read peoples' opinions and the reasoning behind it, personally. If you're that upset about it, maybe you should step away from this site for a bit, or not open certain posts.

amen seahawk, anytime any of the models have hinted at missing florida the florida people I disagree with have gone nuts with the bashing. why anybody would wish for a cane anyway is beyond me. 6 direct hits is enough for me, ya'll are welcome to it in florida, i just pray you survive without too much damage.
