in order for it to go through arolinas at this point, it would have to buck ALL KNOWN CLIMATOLOGY, going strraight north through the ridge, straight into a trough, which would shear it to death as it plunged into it.

Agreed.

It's over.

It's Florida and NOWHERE else.

Time for the Moderators to start locking any threads Hurricane_lover starts.

Agreed its going into Florida as well and people are stressed so maybe this should be adressed later, but still I'm quite upset over people putting down hurricane_lover, suggesting that his threads be locked, etc. Somehow everytime a storm has been heading towards NC and people are all over themselves predicting its GOT to go into Florida, there isn't a call that they basically be chased off the board. He didn't even say that, he basically said that everyone from N.C. to Florida should watch out. Granted he's been NC leaning in his posts, but its his opinion, he's backed up by at least one model, he was not rude or dangerous in his post, it was a valid opinion. My gosh, there was even a post suggesting that people on this board would like to cause him physical harm. If this is the type of response people are going to get from now on for making a forcast that goes against the accepted path of the board, I'm leaving.

I agree with you. We don't know where it will make landfall until it makes landfall. None of us are God and we are all allowed to have our opinions.

You must not be seeing many of his posts. Have you visited the chat room? Out of nowhere he says things like "I know this is a Carolina storm. I know this for sure." And then he'll repeat that exact thing intermittedly throughout. It would be one thing to discuss the possibilities and probabilities and what not, but this guy just keeps carrying on. He is trying to lillicit arguments. Look how many posts he has gotten in this thread alone. Time to just ignore him, IMO.

None of the models show a hit north of Cape Canaveral now. The GFDL which pointed at SC for days is now showing Melbourne. All the others are south of that.

PLEASE emphasis the Cone of Danger. If you live within the Cone of Danger, be prepered for a Cat 5. The gusts are 180 MPH and structures will fail at maximum as quickly as a slower sustained winds. I know there will be some within the Cone of DANGER will be fortunate enough to avoid the catastrophic damage, but they should be greatfull and not upset thatthey were missed.

Everyone from Fl t oNC pray for one another.

No...many of the models are no showing a NC landfall. The GFS has finally come around and all the models that were showing a landfall there were GFS based...and they have come around too.

My question is this: Are you going to stick around for the massive meal of CROW you are going to have to eat because you came in here and basically called us a bunch of idiots...and acted as if you were a parent over a bunch of school children with statements like "Ive been trying to tell you people!!!"

Hmmmmmmm? I think you are coming around because you aren't as arrogant about the NC thing as you were earlier...but I love to see good mea culpas :-)

Exactly. Having been through several hurricanes, I have been fortunate enough to never lose anything more then my dog, which was rough but could have been worse. Issabell hit us as a cat 2 and wiped out the eastern half the county. Gaston hit Virginia where I am now as a tropical storm, killed 7 people, and did somewhere around 20 million in damage in the Richmond area alone. These storms are serious serious things.

Well, truth is, people in the Carolinas should NOT let their guard down. Though a direct strike is a pretty far possibility (and many will say not one at all), this thing could come north through Georgia regardless of how many say it will GOM.

Whatever is left of this storm after landfall, if it moves north, will be major nasty and could cause massive flooding and damage well inland up the coast if it goes that way.

So NO ONE should let their guard down yet - anywhere on the East Coast or the GOM.

I'll repeat what most have said on this thread: NC is done. Frances has snubbed NC; she won't make the turn. Space Coast in FL, stay safe.

Oh, just noticed that was my 100th post, I'm now a Tropical Low :)

The NHC has Frances going towards Alabama and then upward to the Ohio Valley after a FL landfall.

That's what I think too. It is getting a little old seeing him post thread after thread with the same topic. Just make one thread and be done with it instead of posting multiple threads with the exact same wording and only one model to back you up.
