Twelve years ago I was stationed at Homestead AFB and on August 23-24, extreme SFL was ripped apart by Andrew. I am STILL dramatized by it (that's why I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota
But I wanted to say this. Please take what the NHC or the Weather Channel or any of the models say with a grain of salt. In Homestead we were only told to evacuate late Sunday afternoon (Andrew was practically on top of us by then). I don't really think anyone knows where this is going because it is so powerful that it'll make it's own path. On Friday 21 August it turned towards Florida, on Saturday 22 August it was going to hit Palm Beach, then Miami then FINALLY when it was almost to late, Homestead and Florida City.
Now, I'm not a meterologist or anything, but Mother Nature has a way about her that she will do what she wants, when she wants. And that goes triple for hurricane's too, especially one as powerful as Frances.
Thank You
