I'm worried that this NW jog is being completely misinterpreted.
As I observed earlier, the wobble isn't following the eyewall core. Please go to the loop and observe the shape of the red core ring. It is elongated west-east around the true elongated core. What that wobble has done is spin-off in an erratic release due to the storm encountering the hard edge of the secondary High reaching into Florida.
It is very possible that Frances has reached the tongue of high pressure over Florida and is reacting to the transfer by jumping pressure because of the jerk to the structure. The outcome of this could possibly be temporary deformity resolving into a turn west and restrengthening...
Look at where the distorted core wall is going. Ignore the spun-off eye.
The clouds on radar over south Florida are moving NE to SW. This is the steering direction under the pinched High slot. If this radar flow is accurate, a left turn into Miami could follow - or a compromise more left of track perhaps...
