I was smart,I beat the crowd and left home early Wednesday morning, now staying here in Pensacola. My roof still has leaks and I don't want to stick around for another Catagory 4 storm. But the problem is is that Frances could make a second landfall here in the western panhandle.I can't escape this storm

It is possible she may go through the fla straits and then be eventually pushed NE by a trough comming across Texas.

She could hit the Fla panhandle as a cat 4.

Not really, Frances would have to turn almost WSW in order to pass through the Str. of Fl. at this point.

Actually, it will likely hit the panhandle after re-emerging near Tampa...it does not need to pass through the straights to do so...BUT it would not hit as a cat 4...MAYBE strong cat 2

A strong 2 is too strong for me, and I'm just north of Pensacola! Let's hope it weakens quickly.

Erin in '95 went through Central Florida and then hit Pensacola as a CAT2. Doesn't have to hit Miami to do so!
