well, I made the trip out of harm's way after all and am up in CT instead of Jupiter, FL. Good luck to all those of you riding this one out. Here's to hoping we all have someplace nice to go home to! Looks like this is going to be an extremely close call for Palm Beach County and could still be a direct hit. Crossing my fingers.

I think your assumption of landfall as a CAT 3 is just wishfull thinking. It's forecast to make landfall as a CAT 4 and the current slight weakening will more than likely be short lived. Look again at the storm surge charts. Also remember that the waves will be on top of that surge. If you're near the coast this isn't the storm to ride out. Good luck and stay safe!
