safely evacuated ... good luck

#1 Postby Weatherboy1 » Thu Sep 02, 2004 6:49 pm

well, I made the trip out of harm's way after all and am up in CT instead of Jupiter, FL. Good luck to all those of you riding this one out. Here's to hoping we all have someplace nice to go home to! Looks like this is going to be an extremely close call for Palm Beach County and could still be a direct hit. Crossing my fingers.

Good luck. I am riding this storm out. It doesnt look like the surge will be that bad to flood, and all the shutters are nice and tight. Also looks like she will hit as a Cat 3. Hopefully.

I think your assumption of landfall as a CAT 3 is just wishfull thinking. It's forecast to make landfall as a CAT 4 and the current slight weakening will more than likely be short lived. Look again at the storm surge charts. Also remember that the waves will be on top of that surge. If you're near the coast this isn't the storm to ride out. Good luck and stay safe!

I agree Marshall. If your area has been ordered to evacuate, you should definately heed it!

Good luck Weatherboy1. I hope that your home is spared!
