We have forecasting.

We have -removed-.

Is there such a thing as denialcasting?

I, for one, don't want this thing....not even a piece of it. That said, I am putting a good bit of faith in both the NHC and all of the tried and true, learned folks at this site!

I am semi-prepared for a hurricane since Isabel ripped through here and can be as ready as I can be for this one in fairly short notice. But I don't appreciate folks like this Hurricane Lover spewing his opinion without any basis in meteorological theory or fact. It's not only annoying, it is a waste of my time when they are casting any sort of doubt upon the professional's forecasts. There are some of us up here that can't afford to have these doubts, just like anywhere else! I guess he's entitled to an opinion, but if he is just being a pain in our collective butts then I think the moderators should step in and shut him down.

Good luck Floridians and any other souls in this storm's path!

**This is not an accurate forcast, do not take it as such, it is a blatant attempt at board humor and is meant as nothing else**

It's coming for NC. There is your requisite NC wishcast.

** This was not a forcast** **This was not a forcast**

That's just wrong. You all are so self-righteous but who really knows which direction this thing will take? The NHC predictions, which have been brilliant this year, did not predict that Frances would be east of her present position.

That said, this isn't -removed-. It's just a call to recognize that until the fat lady sings, this thing is open to all and every opinion. To ridicule others is to invite disaster.

YOU should know better.

Excuse me, but I think you're getting a little insulting yourself. Did you really think that would help the situation? Johnathan and everyone else was joking around, but you just bashed Johnathan. THAT'S totally not accepted.

Please. Grow up Stephanie.

I can accept that Hurricane_lover truly believes this storm is going to make that right turn to NC. He really really knows that it's going to happen and that if we just wait, we'll see.

I don't know why all this reminded me of a story I hadn't thought of in decades.

Poor Linus, if he had just realized that the Great Pumpkin was a hurricane maybe he would have had his vigils on the beach in August.

A good bit north it is if you live on the Florida East coast, I am not sayying its going to North Carolina but further north along Florida or even Ga coast it may as it rides around the western periphry of the ridge. I have been comparing every wobble on my map at home after each advisory and it varies between Savannah and Palm Beach... So I guess whichever Wobble wins out is where landfall happens.

Agree 100% track was adjusted right at 5 pm and may be adjusted or abandoned later if this trend continues...

Forecast archive...notice the landfall point moved a good bit north...

Agree? Have you looked at a loop? Also...moved a good bit north? It mved up the coast 40 miles since 5 am. Since the 11 am advisory...it went north 18 miles? Not sure about your definition but that is not a good bit north. A good bit north is 100 or 150 miles in one advisory....not 18.

Also...not one reliable model shows this right now...and recon is finding a stronger ridge to the north than previously thought. It has also picked up some forward momemntum...to the WNW and NW...not the NNW like earlier.

It amazes me that the mods are allowing the personal attacks on me when i'm just stating an opinion.

C'mon!

You have been making predictions about a SC/NC landfall while supplying NO EVIDENCE to back them up.

Ms. Cleo feels your pain.

The Great Pumpkin could have been there. We'll never know because Linus fainted every time he thought he saw it. Wait, I know! Snoopy scared the Great Pumpkin away!! :grr: :(

I actually had a mod send me a message warning me for trolling. How is stating an opinion trolling? I live in Miami and feel strongly based on history, the through coming from Texas and slowing of Francis that this will be a Carolina event in the end. How is that -removed-?
