God! What's next for me? The Plague?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

God! What's next for me? The Plague?

First, surprise floods in Virginia.
Then Mid-Atlantic WX.com's database goes down under the load.
Then I lose connectivity b/c Verizon's switching station goes underwater.
Next I get a crappy dial-up and model data takes so long to ingest, my connection times out and there's no maps.
Finally...a break :) I get a new DSL connection. Works great for 17 hours

Until...a Lame-o down the road backs a backhoe into a pole and snaps a power line. *poof* Blackout. UPS lasts 45 minutes and it dies.

Power now restored and every things functioning until the Locusts get here.

Scott

oh did I mention I bought my 16 year old daughter a hooptie that worked fine. Her boyfriend borrowed it Tuesday and blew out the transmission.

ROFL. Sorry but you seem like an accident waiting to happen lately. Hang in there Scott. We're only at the the mid-point of the tropical season. Well almost at the peak :-)

Scott,
I'm at 20.04 N, 80.08 W (Hobe Sound), and it seems like every forecast has this #*@!'in thing coming in my back door, but it still seems like I've had a better day than you.
Thanks so much for your posts.

You have Isaac... but even if the locusts get me, my Saturday will be better than yours there!

I know my problems pale to yours and everyone there. I have ~65 Florida subscribers on the Update email list I write...and I know how deeply concerned everyone is. If my hiedously crappy week brings momentary chuckle down there it's worth it to me.

Take care.

negative stuff

#9 Postby cswitwer » Thu Sep 02, 2004 4:25 pm

You gotta think positive man, or you might get stuck in a loop of negativity! Then it'll never end, and you'll end up having to name the trend I.L.L. -- internal level low. Or GOM, Gulf of Misery.

Keep your chin up-- but don't drink the rain water unless there's a raincloud overhead... just in case!

Scott, Someone from the IRS audit office is holding for you on line 1. :raincloud:

Here's hoping it's all positive from here on.

Scott,
We've done all prep (as we do every time a puff comes off Africa). We live in a "built solid" Divosta house (there's thousands of them in south FL), and if it (the house) doesn't stand up, I'm going to go whip his (Divosta's) a** after this is over. I'm as confident as I can be considering the forecasts are from Miami to Jacksonville. I just talked to my Mother-in-Law in Sanford (in central NC) (who's had more hurricane damage in the last 20 years than I have since I've live in the North PBCounty/Martin County area), and she's starting to stress. My wife and I are pretty much just wishing it was this time next week. thanks

Somebody Just Shoot Me

Power restored just in time for 5PM Advisory. Power promptly goes out a second time at 6PM and I'lm clueless and in the dark until 10:44PM. This is simply unreal. I need to be put out my my misery.

sorry the maps were late tonight...current at 11PM EDT; until the next thing happens

PLEASE don't say stuff like that Scott!! When people say that stuff, it gets me very worried and upset, because me and a few of my friends are like that.

Thanks,
Matt

Scott

Got a belly laugh, sorry you are having such a hard time. The old saying when it rains it pours seems appropriate.

I went to your sponsors site, do you have to register for you to get credit?

Thanks and God Bless You!

Nope. Just visiting helps my monthly goal. Thanks. :)

And they have a great site. This is one of the prettiest places in the eastern US. Sure we have horrible floods, some forest fires, a few tornadoes, wind storms, nasty snowstorms and the worst ice storms this side of NC. But there's never been an F-5 here and we never board up our windows.
