I am a chicken bird and take off when any come my way.
But in all honesty, I always consider any storm a threat until they make landfall, weather the chance is practically 0 or not. I've seen mother nature do some really unexpected things and believe it is better to be prepaired than caught with your pants down showing the world your naked hiney. I really don't see Francis comming up north this far, but until she is gone, my eyes will be watching her every move.

I'm thinking the media should downplay it because I think my prediction is going to be wrong, if that makes any sense??
I think I'm gonna change to say 90mph or less at landfall....Cat 1

Southwesterly Shear REALLY getting obvious...
Here's the most serious Frances problem right now:
The upper high is SW of Frances creating SW shear.
And if people can tear themselves away from staring at the inner core it's clear there's SW shear undercutting the storm from the SW.

dennis1x1 wrote:well the deep reds arent around the center....they are the center....no eye anymore....id be really surprised if the pressure has dropped 6mb based on the sat pics...but who knows.
my guess is pressure is still rising and we have a cat2 storm now.
I'm not sure those deep reds are actually at the center. Looks to me as if the MIGHT be on the east side of the center of circulation but it is very hard to tell where exactly that is.

I went to bed last night dog-tired at 8pm after a very stressfull day of getting our hospital here in Vero Beach ready for a Cat 5. I couldn't sleep (for obvious reasons?) so I logged on to see in Franny had gotten stronger.
I think I'm still asleep dreaming! What's going on?
Please don't pull my chain - is the weakening for real or is it gonna bomb just before landfall??
Now I REALLY won't be sleeping!!
