South Florida a Triple Threat........

#1 Postby Dean4Storms » Fri Sep 03, 2004 7:12 am

We've had Charley and now Frances and guess what? You could be white knuckled again come around the 12th as Ivan gets caught under another large CONUS ridge come next weekend. The GFS wants to cross it over Hispaniola and weaken it substantially and through the FL. Straits into the GOM where it would likely threaten New Orleans area under this long range guidance at this point. Of course alot can change, but there is potential for another threat next weekend, stay tuned!!

The GFS/MRF.........

Don't we need another storm? I don't think so! But nature is nature.

Hispaniola crosser? Sounds Georges-like, maybe a Keys threat. But of course, if the GFS is putting it there so far out, that's likely the best indication that it WON'T be there - it'll be 200 miles to the south, or the north.

They can't say for sure where Francis will hit, and you want us to start worrying about a storm 8 days away?

One thing that they really need to do is get a good supply of gasoline down there. If people get stuck on the roads during this evacuation due to lack of gas it's going to make them a lot less likely to leave (if told to) again very soon.

If it does head this way, let's hope it does cross Hispanola and that the mountains there do their dirty work and tear the storm to pieces.
