Just a question please don't flame me
I just wanted to ask with the way Frances is slowing down, could it give the trough in Texas enough time to move east and influence / weaken it further? Or is the trough going to stall out?

Trough will...
It depends on how the trough moves. As of now, the trough is supposed to strengthen the high pressure ridge or else there would be no Florida landfall. Since Frances is stalling out before anticipated, there is the possibility that the trough will be able to catch up and strengthen the ridge for a more southerly track into Florida. However, in the rare event that Frances stalls out for 2 or 3 days, the trough may steer it away from Florida.

Why wont this old cold front turn into a trough and pull Francis NE if she stays stalled?

Another question: while looking at large scale vis (loops of entire hurricane region) it appeared earlier his morning that Frances was flat out stuck. Looking at closer-up vis at about the same time it appeared that she jogged west. Which vis is the better one to use for deciphering storm movements? Is a combo of the two best?
thanks!
