warmer waters on the way. Remember how fast Charley exploded. This is already strong and will only get stronger.

Hmm, I doubt it. Looking at the radar, the core really looks disorganized, with huge circulation centre which does not seem to be closed on the south side.
If she was well organized, but just spinning slowly, I would believe that she could explosively deepen. Given her current state, unless she totally stalls, she has time to just barely reorganize, but not for rapid deepening.

I'm wondering if a storm with a larger circulation will take a longer time to strengthen?
Charley and Andrew undertook rapid intensification, but were smaller systems compared to Frances.
Thus, Frances might have to get "reved up" before strengthening. I may still catch some flak for this but I think FL really might have doged a bullet with her. Time will indeed tell...

Frances still weakening and disorganized, but will still have serious flood potential, however will only be Cat 1 or 2, certainly not 4 or 5, which is good news.
Well it can certainly get to Cat 4 again. But it needs to get an inner eyewall together.

There's some very minor strengthening forecast.
note the inland forecast difference from advisory 09/03 number 39 to 40

hope I'm not being too redundant..
