Looking for a Nassau doppler?

I am looking for some kind of radar for the Nassau Bahamas area... Does anyone know where I can get one? Or does anyone have a link? Id like to see what it looks like on doppler down there... Thx!

Won't find one. Until the US gives them one, Bahamas can't really afford to spend that kind of money for a radar. The Miami dopler covers a large portion of the most populated islands anyway.

My wife has an aunt and uncle who live there working for a US construction company. We visit them every year. Her aunt had been emailing us every few hours yesterday and up until early this morning. Haven't heard from her since about 8am so they must have lost power and phone lines, but at the time of the last email she reported that they haven't had much rain but the wind was 60 mph with gusts over 100 mph.

Bahamas can't really afford to spend that kind of money for a radar.

How much do those things go for?

All they have to do is tax the Corporations that move there to avoid paying US taxes. They're just freeloaders on the US.

What kind of radar are they running? WSR-74S or C? WSR-57? Maybe some of those older UK radars as well?

There is no Doppler radar network in the UK - so w have no old "units" to sell. :oops:

The WSR-74s and the WSR-57s aren't Doppler radars. They were the precursors to the WSR-88D, which is the Doppler radar system in use with the government services today.
