COULD FRANCES wind down over water?

#1 Postby rainstorm » Fri Sep 03, 2004 5:56 pm

called the helicopter effect. a copter cant hover in the same place forever because the rotor blades disrupt the air around the copter and eventually it will fall to earth and crash. even if upwelling doesnt hurt frances, if it doesnt move soon, it may continue to weaken anyway.

If it was to weaken furher it what be because of upper air conditions. It is over some very warm water. Plus the models move it on out before you scenerio could unfold.

What I wish is that the NHC could give us a little more frequent updates so we'd have a clue what's going on. At this point, I don't think it's asking too much for hourly updates.

2-hour advisories will probably start early tomorrow with hourly updated positions.

note- the nhc only gives hourly updates when a distinct eye is visible on radar. that clearly is not the case.
