NOT!!!!!!!! that I want a major hurricane landfalling anywhere, as I have been through many in my lifetime, right here in Wilmington, NC. And worse yet, (my job REQUIRES that I work in and through them and be away from my family). My concern is......if Frances does not reintensify, and at least cause some mayhem to affected areas, (again, not that I want it to, but that is what was forecast a day or two ago), then the next time this situation comes around, not as many people will evactuate, and the situation could be entirely different.
I totally agree on the call for mandatory evacuations that the officials posted, and I am not "bashing" anyone involved, as Mother Nature only knows what will happen with a storm of this size. My only question is WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT TIME?
And, by NO MEANS, is anyone out of the woods yet on Frances!
AND, if you're leaning on the fence as to leave or not leave the next time something like this comes around, I would STRONGLY urge you to follow the advise of the local officials. If they tell you to leave, then LEAVE.
This post may be a little premature, but I'm done for and I hope that everyone in Florida stays safe and comes out of this OK.

Here's My Question and Concern

The only reason that so many people evacuated is because Charley destroyed us 3 weeks ago and people were still jittery. Under other circumstances we would have been our usual complacent selves and waited. In fact some people did and most of my neighbors in Northern Palm Beach have no shutters up.
