I bought several loaves of good Jewish rye bread with non perishable salami, pastrami, and peperoni. I also bought some good hebrew national deli mustard. I'm ready for this baby!!!

Sardines w/ mustard or oil? When I'm in the mood...on occasion I eat a can of oiled ones w/ crackers.

Let's not forget one of the more basic foodgroups:

Chocolate.

Cookies, Risen chewy things, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, ~frozen chocolate milk~

As far as the more mundane dietary supplements go:

Campbells Sirloin Burger Chunky Soup, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, Canned Fruits and Vegetables, Tuna (and Tuna Helper).

Peanut Butter and crackers, tuna and crackers, cold ceral with boxed milk. After we lost electricty during Hurricane Andrew we had to "save" the ice cream so we ate it before it got mushy.

I'm not in hurricane zone, but...

It would be all about the canned chili and maybe some Spaghetti-Os (want them now but have sushi date tonight!) :(

And no hurricane is really complete without rum drinks. I've never tried this, but I think it would be a great idea to stock fruity red Hawaiian Punch, as much ice as you can protect, some bitters, a few limes and the darkest rum you can find.

Would be big on the dark-rye or pumpernickle sandwich thing for the first night or two. After that I'd have a big taste for something on a hibachi, like the last filet mignon from the freezer.

Later on after being without power a very long time, I'm sure a taste for Domino's pizza would set in, on the hopes that the pizza place had power restored.

Some great ideas here -- let's keep it going. Twinkies!! Yes. Getting some tomorrow and deviled ham, too.
