Frances is down to 105 mph winds.

Now for the BAD news:

Frances is moving WNW at only 4 mph!!!

If that 'cane stalls out over Florida, it will be a major catastrophe. Imagine three to four feet of tropical rain from Frances falling on the sunshine state because the cyclone stalls out for about 30 hours, not to mention the prolonged beach erosion!

I love the great state of Florida, love to vacation there, but live there? No way, Jose. Too many hurricanes.

Frances has almost transformed from a major wind event to an enormous rain event.

I know people are getting excited about the good news, but man I just think this thing will bring way too much rain to Flordia.

I hope it speeds up and moves on out. I'm personally tired of this storm.

I've lived in different parts of central Florida for 35+ years -- I've only had to evacuate once (lived on the beach during Elena), there have only been a handful of storms I've even paid attention to, and I've NEVER had ANY damage related to a hurricane.

I've lived in other states -- Florida is my absolute favorite.

OTOH, this particular hurricane season may give me second thoughts. :P

I know Frances will be a rainmaker...but I just want to remind everybody that Charley was a cat 2 that friday morning and hit as a cat 2 that friday afternoon. Things could still change and people should stay prepared for a major hurricane

Still seems a small price - IMO - for the opportunity to live in paradise!! Maybe 40 days of true potential threat from the tropics, then there's the other 312 that would make it all worthwhile. Anybody wanna trade their place for mine?? I live in Florida too. But unfortunately - only in my mind... :D

That sounds like quite an adventure, boca! Yeah I love taking jebwalks on the beach, but not in a 'cane lol.

BTW, last night I set up an account with iPowerWeb and can any of you guess what my Domain Name is?

Yep, it's none other than jebwalk.com! I kid you not. There's not much there now, but watch it, especially after late this month, 'cuz I will be developing it BIG TIME!!!!
