With a report and explanation and it he sounded very confident.

I'm impressed

Lots of things he said made sense.

Nice to finally see what he looks like.

Expects landfall a little north of the official track.

Talked about the steerin patterns for a bit with high pressure to the north and a front and a whole bunch of other stuff he circled and x's on the map that i dont even remember.

He kept talking about Ivan and how that will pose trouble for the general same area as Charley and Frances...

Oh God. Port Charolette, Punta Gorda dont need/want it. Tampa definitely could not handle a major cane. I hope he is wrong.

Hey I saw that too, He did a hell of a job explaining the patterns and how they effect these systems. He is still saying watch for Ivan down the road!!

His main point was that it would play out because it used up all its warm water energy by staying in one place too long...

I need to get beyond Frances before I start worrying about Ivan. Otherwise, I may have a heart attack here. I think I'm leaving the boards up though. Why not?

I cant say I agree with that "using up all the warm energy" analogy. Storms undergo major intensification during stalls all the time. Elena maintained quite well off the coast of Tampa for 2 days or so. Upwelling should not be a problem yet as she reallys hasnt been in one place long. I agree Frances has got issues...but not enough warm energy is not one of them.

definately a combo of things, but remember its been interracting with land here and there to add to all of these equations.
for all we know the man upstairs smacked her one good time and didnt want FLA to suffer another CAT4 after Charley.
