Does any body remember the quotes from Lloyd Bridges character from Airport

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue

I have family that live in Florida and I could see the humor in it, and yes, I've read the posts he's made up until now, which is why it's funny. It still provided a much needed chuckle in a very tense situation. I, for one, will not be apologizing for chuckling about it. It was a great stress reliever at the moment. I"ve been through so many stressfull times in the past year I relish the fleeting moments that I'm able to laugh.

I can't believe that a very funny post during a time when a lot of people needed a good laugh because they have been scared for days would warrant cursing on such a family like forum.

I have a family, friends, a multi-million dollar home, a multi-million dollar yacht, and alot of personal irreplaceable belongings in Palm Beach county, and I found humor in it, and greatly appreciated it.

You're right LSUChamps, it's NOT appropriate to be name-calling and we won't allow it here.
Btw, welcome to storm2k!

Lowmug, a couple of your posts have already been deleted tonight and you've been warned.

Never meant this as anything but a joke. Just trying to lighten the mood a little.

At this point, mood-lightening is great. After days of constant worry, even an occasional chuckle really helps.

That acronym doesn't always have to be associated with swearing. It can stand for all sorts of things if you really put your mind to it. :P

In reality, I can see the humor in this, although it is still a bleak situation for FL. I hate to laugh at it because of what happened a few weeks ago with Charley; and what may lie ahead in the next couple of days. I really don't want to wish harm, injury, or death upon anyone in any way. :(

Thanks, charleston. At times the personal attacks bummed me out a bit but this is a great site, so I choice to simply ignore them.

No problem. Thanks for stepping up and admitting it...that shows a lot of maturity. I think the thing that got me was not the idea it would go north...I could see that even as being slightly possible...but the way to talked to people about your opinion...as if there was NO other possibility...the NHC and eveyrone (including all the models) were wrong...and you were right. At least that is what got me.

So...lesson learned I assume and like I said...it takes guts to come back like that and apologize. I admire that. I doubt flyingphish and DESTRUCTION5 will be back to apologize for saying it was defintely a fish or "trust me, this is not a FLorida storm."

Remember...nothing is certain in weather...especially tropical weather.
