Central Fla report
We just got our first little band...nothing major. Only lasted about 5 min or so..gusty wind and rain. Lost power for about 1min. Here I sat thinking this wasn't going to be such a bad deal for us, but as I watched the little (couldn't even begin to estimate speed, not a math whiz!) gusts, I thought "hmmm, and this is just the beginning?

I'm in SW Orlando and we're getting it right now. I thought the same thing...hmmmm...this is just the beginning and how many hours are we gonna have this thing? Seems like overall it will cause more damage than Charley just due to the rain and sheer length of the storm. I imagine the any oak trees left standing in this area are going to come down. The ground is already saturated. Now add another 10+ inches of rain and 80mph winds....and they're gone.

Hang in there, y'all! I remember how long Georges went on for us-- like 2-3 days! I hope Frances will not be that long for all of you. I would suggest that you try not to watch or listen to TV/radio/internet reports constantly. Check in often, of course, but try to do other things such as reading or other hobbies. Listen to relaxing music (as some suggested earlier.) Thinking about the storm all the time can really be stressful. I know it's gonna be hard, but it will pass. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
