Linda, must have been after we lost power at the ADC when the WLOX station was hit by tornado and knocked out the power at about 4:00pm

She must live near me. I had "No Diving" sign from the Beach Park Pier in the front yard and the next door neighbors had 24x30 foot section of the pier in their garage.....

You evacuated to the ADC? Bet that was fun. lol.

Do you remember that big channel marker thing that broke loose and was on the beach in Pascagoula? Or was that another time? I can't remember.

Husband was adminstrator at that time...had to go there. Hardly knew it was happening. Only time your heard anything was at the front door (of course thru several locked doors) and on the Salley Port. Was strange....

I don't remember anything on the beach. Most of Beach Blvd was gone around there.

Hey Linda, we live about 35 miles from each other. Pretty cool. 8-)

Well, looks like I blew my forecast. I was certain that trough would pick up Frances before she had a chance to get into the GOM. I didn't give her much of a chance at the GOM. I thought if that were to happen, it would most likely be Appalachicola or east of there. I knew I was in trouble by yesterday afternoon as the models continued to trend west. Looks like they are still doing that. So, I blew it. Gah. Back to the drawing board.

8-) A lot of folks already call it Pile of Debris as it is.

I still can't believe, after all the years they have been there, that the County and the Cities of Biloxi and Gulfport let them build on the south side of Hwy. 90 after Camille. There was a ban on any building on that side of the highway for years. Strange what a little money will do!
Get one major in here, and the decision to go LAND-BASED will happen real quick - too much revenue possibility to let them sit battered, bashed, and un-useable...
I definitely agree and the powers at be in our state legislature probably have already discussed that since Lily and Isidore almost sent the Treasure Bay Casino out to sea; literally. By the way; me being a lifelong resident of Biloxi; I feel very offended to those comments by others that we are the "Redneck Las Vegas". I can assure you Biloxi isn't as bad as many locations immediately north of here. Not everyone from Biloxi is humpback and stupid PTPatrick. Some from our area happen to be pretty smart.

A friend just told me she went to the casino's (from here in Mobile) last night for dinner. Said the traffic was terrible. She saw a lot of cars with Florida tags. I've heard most motels in Mobile are also full with Florida people. Those poor people - looks like they are going to have to move again to avoid this storm. They won't be able to go home (East) since noone really knows where she'll make landfall the second time.

QUOTE": BY lindalooPeter (Mike) Reader actually was dead on with landfall for georges. He warned us here in Pascagoula that we would get hammered and we did. I remember him freaking out because they had to move to another part of the station because one of the towers was going to fall. "

Linda,
Good morning neighbor...looks to be an interesting labor day week! I have to disagree with you on M. reader and Georges... I was tracking georges online-radar...lived in Escatawpa then and it wasnt till Georges approached horn island that Mikey made the call!....up to that point he kept saying N.O. to MS/LA line... .(what NWS-sliddel was forecasting) It was channel 5 reporting (what was his name??? oh yeah RANDY WOOD not a met but in the thick of it!) in 'goula who made the first call some 1/2 hr. earlier! Mike's a great met but in his older age he's mellowed out and pretty much Sticks with the NHC-NWS "official" forecast and doesnt get excited about the long range tracks like he use too. Just more proof T.V. and local Mets are becoming Mouth Pieces for NHC ...I guess thats okay...keeps the hype down :D as long as we have sites like this to share opinions /tracks with... Take care and glad to see someone from our parts as an ADMIN! :D

GOM strengthening; Red Neck Las Vegas.

You're right; many of the hotels here in Biloxi are already full; many with Florida residents. If what's left of Frances should head our way; towards the FL/AL/MS area it probably won't be near the strength of what those Florida residents were attempting to flee from just a few days ago; IMHO.
