damage report from Martin County FL
Finally got through to some family in Hobe Sound, fl..Power is out everywhere large trees down. roof damage occuring, winds gusting to around 100mph. unfortunatly the worst is still to come..Will keep everyone posted as soon as i get some more information.

I still feel like some are trying to minimize the amount of damage that even a CAT2 Hurricane can do. Hopefully all are beginning to realize they need to hunker down and stay safe with the reports of 100 mph wind along the coast with the eye still well offshore and 60 mph gusts in squalls in Tampa!! And contrary to some saying the flooding will be minimal-they are wrong. The amount of water this storm is producing over the huge area it is dropping it-which is already saturated from Charley and earlier rains-could very well lead to some very dangerous flooding situations even with the very porous types of soils Florida has. Everyone stay safe-our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Boy you are not kidding. I went outside to watch, and I saw a funnel cloud try to poke down and then it disappated, but, about 30 seconds later I was leaning into gusts almost falling over, as I weigh a mere 130 pds.
Suprising to say the least!
