Explain this to the weather-phenomena challenged like me. In terms of further strengthening, I assume this could be bad?

assuming this strom wasnt hours form landfall and had an eyewall...yes..it could be signs that little is standing in the way of intensificaion..

however.....those first 2 items will make it impossible for strengthening before landfall.

I dont understand how you think it could not intensify...

A. Strong convection now wrapped around the eye

B. Slow movement, could be 8-12 hours before landfall still

C. Warmest water temps its been over... the gulf stream

D. Apparent lessening of shear

E. the NHC says intensification IS possible

F. Better radar presentation.
