not to beast a dead hore (see Jason the Surfer) but http://www.cbs4.com Bryan Norcross just reported this as well. This station seems to have the best streaming coverage, plus the best forecaster.

It's been getting organized all day. It just took some to time reflect it in intensity.

Interesting...
the NHC 2:05pm Atlantic Tropical Weather Discussion
(http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/MIATWDAT.shtml?)
says the GOM ridge is moving west.
That would explain the westward jog, and that jog, may have been enough for Frances to get a sip of warm Gulfstream.
If the ridge moves fast enough, Frances won't be able to sit at the Gulfstream Tiki Bar for long, and we'll get this over with!

Ok, so does anyone know what does a 3MB drop correlate to in rise in sustained wind level?

Wondering if this is reflected in the 116 mph winds detected earlier.

position?

#12 Postby wasup » Sat Sep 04, 2004 4:14 pm

26.56 north
79.10 west

postion on vortex message, when they say on the TV the position is 26.9 west and 79.3 west. why the discrepancy? or is it a discrepancy?

Its not a discrepancy. Vortex goes in minutes, seconds of latitude and longitude, whereas NHC goes by 10ths of a degree.

No problem! I just learned that this season. Every storm I'm learning something big or small.
