yes..the pressure at that buoy will continue to drop as the eye approaches.....thats to be expected....unless it drops below 962 there is no proof that the minimum pressure of the storm is dropping.

If the bouy is east of the eye, how can the eye be approaching it?

misread that....still..unless the reading is lower than 962 it is inappropriate to announce that the pressure of the storm is dropping.

Yes, you could. If the eye is east, than the lowest pressure is not being read.

There's no doubt to the experienced eye that the inner eyewall is trying to contract. Can only mean a run at category 3 over the Gulf Stream.

Lyons says approaching trough edge is joing north outflow with potential to create a boosting outflow channel. This could become an outlet for the warm Gulf Stream water energy to translate to storm intensity as it moves from ocean surface to vented upper...
