Brevard Cocoa: Starvin Marvin's Damage

#1 Postby SeaBrz_FL » Sat Sep 04, 2004 4:57 pm

For those of you familiar with the Starvin Marvin's Truck stop on the southeast corner of 520 and I-95, the gas pumps are no longer covered.

Photo taken from the west side of 1-95. Heard from people that actually witnessed this that it's precariously close to getting blown up onto I-95.

Aren't you staying in the Holiday Inn across I-95 from there? If so, then that shot must be from your hotel room? Keep your head down!

Yes, across the street, but because of JLAUDERDAL's FANTASTIC suggestion to get a room facing SOUTH, I have my 3rd floor window wide open with no rain or wind coming in. FREE ULTRA IONIZATION! Other family members, facing north, are not so lucky.

Believe me, I'm a native and taking this thing seriously, but like everyone else here -- I LOVE THESE THINGS ... I know it's going to get much worse, but right now it's awesome. Don't plan on having power too much longer, but will stay online as long as possible.

Palm trees blowing to the south. Squall at approx 50 mph for a while.

We had a Kansas tornado chaser check in to the hotel a little while ago. His car roof is decked out with anemometers (sp?) and all kinds of gadgets. He's left for now, but looking forward to chatting with him later.

Why wouldn't you have gotten a room facing westerly with a storm coming in from the southeast?
