This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

WSW drift / slow movement?

#1 Postby dhweather » Sat Sep 04, 2004 7:58 pm

Looking at Melbourne Doppler, it looks like she's drifting or slightly
moving WSW. Anyone else see this?

Yes...but it is still really difficult to be sure.

One thing I am pretty sure about and that is a re-entry into the GOM as a pretty good TS. Warm wates in the GOM and ripe conditions, could mean a surprise to residents along the Gulf Coast.

I think that eliptical eye is playing tricks on us. It's so friggin hard to tell! NHC is saying movement. TWC is reporting movement. I'm going blind trying to figure it out.

No surprise here! The discussions in this forum had that pegged from the beginning. We trimmed suspect branches today, went to the store, filled the car and the truck. We're ready! The LOTR Risk game will be our fun for the next few days. (EEK)

I and the rest of ft laud residents want to hear NOTHING of any kind of south movement!! I hope you're all wrong, I'm afraid to examine it right now. :(

I think our eyes are playing tricks on us. The WSW thing crossed my mind, but I think I'm going blind looking at radar!

I just took a shower (TMI) and as I closed my eyes to rinse the shampoo out of my hair, I swear all I saw were satellite rain bands swirling around!

Geez, get it on already!!!!

I'm going cross-eyed from staring at radar - BUT....does it look like the smaller is getting smaller AND it may be drifting NW? It almost looked like it was going to come ashore at Jupiter, but now it almost looks like it followed the coast line a bit further north.

Am I seeing things?
