Orlando/Pensacola
How are things in Orlando???Right now I'm in Pensacola having a little labor day weekend party with family and friends.I'm guessing my power is out now or very close to being out,the street I live on has a lot of trees.I'm going to be here in P'cola till Tue and it looks like Frances will be making it's second landfall in the panhandle while i'm here. How good or bad do things look for Pensacola?

Well on the local weather on twc it just had that our winds will be about 50 mph tomorrow night if that is any indication. I know you're up here for family and friends but for the life of me can't understand why alot of people down on the east coast evacuated up here to another coastal town in Florida. Our local news last night interviewed a few that came up and are now staying on Pensacola Beach, guess they might have to evacuate again.

Gradually getting worse in Otown
Here at my house just south of downtown, we've had some pretty good gusts. Lost power between 6:30 and 7:30. The airport reported gusts up in the 50's with blowing rain. It comes in torrents, and then lets up for a while. I doubt we've had an inch of rain so far.

SW Orlando here...MetroWest.
We had a couple of short-lived bands come through earlier with some rain and winds. Now it appears to be more steady. Rain and wind in the 20-30s with gusts in the 50s I'd say. I'm really concerned for our coastal friends to the south. They are just getting pummeled.
I'm also concerned for southern Osceola county who will also take a hit, and after Charley they need a break. As for us, we have had power all night. We lost cable for about three minutes but it came right back. With all this rain moving in and all the big Oaks in this area I'm wondering if we'll be so lucky to have power tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone here for all your knowledge. It's really been a comfort to a new floridian like me. We moved here right before Charley and so this is number two for me....and I've lived down here for a month!! Amazing.
