He just said on MSNBC that we could be looking at a similar situation, not necessarily FL, next week with Ivan coming in somewhere along the US coast...

By the way, he really did say "great wailing and gnashing of teeth" :)

...another long week for forecasters coming up...

its possible..but its also possible she wont it the us.....troughs this time of year become more and more regular....

with her position in the northern leewards...it wouldnt be to late for a recurv...

only thing for sure...there is LOTS of time to wait.

well if you consider LOTS of time to be one week..then yes..lots of time...but that time will close in quickly

What? I thought the Russians had given that up. Has Czar Putin renounced his country's partaking in international conventions against the hunting of whales??? Oh dear... first the japs, now the russians...

One of the emergency management worker likened Frances to a "ROOT CANAL".

Except all the long range models predict there to be NO front's across anywhere in the USA except mabye on the far west coast by the time that Ivan makes it to the bahamas. There is going to be a HUGE ridge bridging from the central USA, across to bermuda, and down to south fla. This high pressure ridge is also predicted to be MANY times stronger than the one that pushed Frances.

This is really far out, but i wouldn't be surprised to see Ivan make it to the south-western bahamas within 7-8 days. From there, its going to be either the south fla, or the keys south to cuba...

That is not true. A lot depends on the timing of Frances. There are signs that weak troughiness will prevail over the East coast in the wake of Frances.

I liken it, as I did in another thread, to a 10,000 lb wrecking ball on the end of a 40-lb test fishing line hanging over my head for a week. Just swing it out of the way or drop it on my head already! :eek:
