Punta Gorda--Another eyewall experience?
Is Punta Gorda in for another eyewall later tonight? It certainly looks possible with the way Frances is moving. Granted the storm will weaken somewhat, but, Punta Gorda could be looking at a category 1 hurricane with stronger gusts later this evening if Frances stays on this present course. I hope the people there won't be caught offguard a second time in 3 weeks!! http://radar.weather.gov/radar/loop/DS. ... kmlb.shtml

I don't like the sound of that at all! Also, there are a lot of people here from the other coast who came here for safety! ON another note, will this have a different effect on Lake Okeechobbe, which could make things even worse?

I can just imagine what this will do the the temporary fixes on roofs and electrical wires in the Punta Gorda/Pt. Charlotte area. Imagine just getting your power back in the last day or so...and now Frances!
My heart goes out to the people in Flordia.
Another thought...isn't this crossing a big chunk of the Florida citrus groves area? Something else Frances will probably ruin.
Hard to believe that not too long ago Florida's biggest problems were hanging chads.
