Man, we've got a drop off of people online. It looks like 2 million Floridians are without power.
Fort Pierce is going to get slammed by the rest of the eye coming inland in minutes.

I'm here! I am monitoring because I have relatives in Lakeland and Gainesville, so they have yet to see the worst.

I really hate for you guys and gals down there, Weve sure had our share up here over the years. Nobody here wishes these things on anyone. Take care, and I know its tough to deal with, but things will hopefully get better. Been a tough year for Florida this year, but some people north of you are thinking and praying for yall!!

I was just looking at the milage between West Palm Beach (one edge of the eye wall) and other locations.
To Ocala: 239 miles (edge of solid rain bands in center of state)
To St. Augustine: 250 miles (just north of northern edge)
To Clearwater: 227 miles (west edge on land)
To Ft. Pierce: 63 miles (other edge of eyewall)
Amazing how it covers such a wide area, huh?

NC George,
I am in Alachua just outside of Gainvesville, we are about an hour from feeling the edge of the storm. I don't think it will be bad at all though. We have a steady wind right now but not at all heavy. And as for power, we just brewed a fresh pot so I will be here for at least a bit longer.

Well this year, weve seen Alex, Bonnie, Charley and Gastone, and so far it wasnt really that tough, except for heavy rain!! I have a place at Holden Beach, NC, and we had alot of roof damage and tree limbs on our houses, but nothing like you people have had in Florida!! I hope Frances doesnt tear up too much, but the duration of the storm is what worries me. Lets please hope and pray that Ivan goes somewhere besides here!!! Take care down there!!! We,re with ya up here!!!
