Boring is "good"

#1 Postby Terry » Sun Sep 05, 2004 1:41 am

No tornado warnings, although most of FLA is under a tornado watch.

Almost no significant weather in south Lakeland. If you love wild weather it isn't good, but if you want people to be safe, then it is a "good thing."

reports still coming in from Melbourne area with increasing winds, etc. Looks like Vero took a hard hit.

Winds have picked up here and getting a bit noisy, but not even Charely strength yet............a good thing since there are still Charley four-legged victims at a shelter just south of Bartow.

If animals can detect weather problems ahead then there are none for us here in Lakeland: the 2 dogs, 11 cats, 3 birds, 4 hermits crabs are asleep and clueless.

Tornado was detected on doppler only. so far, no reports of sightings or damage.

Problem is that these cells with tornados are moving at approx. 60 mph -- by the time you hear about it on TV/radio, it already hit you!
