Storm surge - Jenson to Vero

Doppler indicated storm sturge from around Jenson Beach to Vero or even farther north indicating 22+ above sea level.

Tom Terry says: The surge could go as far as a couple of miles inland..........this storm is the same as a more intense hurricane moving faster.

Winds picking up here in south Lakeland, but not much yet. Almost NO rain yet.

Yes and it high tide at currently in Jensen and in half an hour high tide at Stuart to exacerbate things!

this tom terry guy sounds whacky based on his continued inaccurate overdramatic reports..

was he actually saying the surge would reach 2 miles inland? ridiculous.....and as for the 20ft thing..ridiculous.

as for the surge of a slow storm being as bad as a larger storm moving fast.......just the opposite....the faster the storm the worse the surge.

"Maximum storm tides of 7 or 8 feet are expected mainly north of Stuart. North of Cape Canaveral, a surge of 3 to 4 feet is likely. Battering waves of very long duration will be of great concern along the beaches. Significant wind and wave damage is likely in the Intracoastal Waterway"
