Frances has cooled the water some from what they were but the waters are still warm enough to were it shouldnt affect ivan.

We've got a few days to watch Ivan and see what happens...Ivan is way far away, but, I guess all we cand do is watch. I expect we'll have a better grip on Ivan by Tuesday or Wednesday in relation to the United States.

The upwelling will be far removed, when and if Ivan ventures over the same general area.

The warm Gulfstream waters are constantly moving. It is a stream of warm water, constantly being replaced/flowing from one area to another.

Plus, the water flow in this area is very dynamic, courtesy of the Gulfstream....would any leftover upwelling even be there by the time Ivan would come by? Seems to me that any colder water Frances might have churned up would be mixed and well on its way to the Outer Banks and points north by now.

I already said this yesterday. The NHC track has Ivan going into the Carribean. Frances path was well north of the Carribean. And also see on that map from weatherunderground that the water more than 80 degrees, even in Frances path.

Kevin, What part of Ocala are you in? I'm in NW Ocala and thank God I still have electricity. I've only received gusts of 40-45mph and about an inch of rain...

BTW, Ivan looks to be a potential threat to the USA unfortunately...
