The surprising intensification of Ivan means a more N track?

The National Hurrciane Center did not expected this amazing intensification of Hurricane Ivan too SOONER! Does this will have an effect on the 11am projected track? Strong tropical cyclones tend to move in a more west north-westward component than weaker systems as weaker systems are driven by the easterly shear. If this system starts to move more WNW, it can dangeroulsy put me on Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands in great danger, as this system is anticipated to pack winds up to 140mph when it reaches our longitude.

Even though strong storms tend to move WNW to NW, but if they have a strong high that is steering them, they will most likely go with the flow of the high and thats what this system is doing.
