Emergency management in South Florida

Just heard on the news down here from one of the local meteorologists that emergency management offices down here have recommended to leave the shutters up until next weekend passes :(

If I was a Florida resident,I would be headed for the nearest out of state relative or friend to stay untill Ivan passes

2004 has convinced me that I have no desire to live in the potential path of hurricanes for the rest of my life... and convinced me that Florida is a ~winter~ vacation place.

Yep. Mayor of Miami said he's leaving his own up, LOL.

I'm not putting anything away until AFTER Ivan passes us.

Yeah, most of the local mets and others down here said you might as well leave them up, but take down a few for safety's sake (i.e., bedroom door/window, etc.). That's never a good sign, IMO....*sigh*

I don't frankly... but I'm stuck here until my husband graduates college (too many credits to transfer)

Then we're heading to Wyoming!
