key biscyane
Hey all. We just moved to Key Biscayne 2 weeks ago and don't have anyone to call. We evacuated to the west coast and my husband is in the hospital. Good news seems hard to come by. . . .Friend in Boca just called to say she heard Key Biscayne was flooded. I was thankful when I read that Derek Ott had gone over the Rickenbacher. Took that as good news. Any information would be appreciated. Our house is very close to the school. Thanks. Stay safe.

Hi,
Saw your post and called my sister in Pembroke Pines. They have heard nothing about Key Biscayne being under water. There is flooding but they had seen nothing on TV to indicate "underwater". Now I do remember when I was young (LOL) if a bad storm hit directly, Key Biscayne would be sort of split in two, water wise. I don't know where your friend in Boca got that information. Better you call the Emergency Services or a local news station and find out for sure.

I live in the Homestead area, and we haven't heard anything on local news about Key Biscayne being under water. In fact, the mandatory evac. order was lifted at 10am this morning for all areas, which tells me that K.B. is fine. We are getting some heavy rain now, and probably through the night so some local flooding could occur in areas prone to it, but overall, Dade faired well with Frances.
