Frances 1000 miles wide!

They just had this on the local news here in Tampa. 1000 miles wide isn't a record but thats a huge number!. :eek:

Interesting Bear,
Steve Lyons said Ivan was a "small" hurricane !!!!
Does anyone know how wide Ivan is?

Well looking at that sat image N-S wise Ivan is about 600 nmiles long, E-W wise it's about 600 nmiles long. So 600nmi x 600 nmi roughly.

For the record 1 deg equals 69mi or 60nm
