Question about Ivan

I apologize for those who may have answered this question on another thread I made it on but I can't find the thread I posted it on. I had no idea this board moved this fast! WOW!

I am in Central NC ... The only hurricane I can remember that we felt the affects from with wind was Fran. If Ivan makes landfall on the NC coast will it be the same as Fran? I can't even remember what that one did, where it came in at, nothing. NO I am not blonde by birth only by choice thank you. I know I was without power for close to a week because of it.

Fran came right up through wilmington, and through the Central-Eastern part of north carolina. I know person county (where im from) got prolly 70-80 mph winds for A LONG TIME that night... lots of rain, flooding. The works. 10 downed trees in my yard, 1 week without power.

We got pounded here in the southern piedmont from Hugo also, and it came in at Charleston, and still had a perfect eye over Charlotte.

Fran came in either as a high end CAT 2 (110 mph) or low-end CAT 3 (115 mph) ...

Wow ! I am 3.5 or 4 hours inland from the beach. (Emerald Isle) it amazes me that a cane can affect that far inland.

It's too early to say with any accuracy whether Ivan could affect NC. It's certainly possible. Still at least a week out(and if it goes that far north, probably closer to 10 days).

Just alot of rain and light winds here.

TLHR .. yes we did get hit with Floyd but farther NE from me got hit the worst. I just remember the rain. Rocky Mount and counties around there are the ones who got the worst flooding. Dead pigs, sewage floating the whole nine yards. People lived out of campers over there a year or more if I remember correctly.

I was more busy during these hurricanes. Birthing babies and all. LOLOL

We did get the rain from Floyd but not the winds we got with Fran.

I live in Carteret County in North Carolina, We got Isabele last year and she was good, but now as bad as they had said she would be. Floyd was worse for us.
