One thing I have noticed about Fox is that they let those soldiers say hi to their families. I have not noticed that from CNN or MSNBC.

Linda...I noticed that and made a comment about it...and was quickly jumped on. You soften your stance just a tad and look out!

This does not surprise me about Geraldo. In my humble opinion, he is the weakest link of Fox News. He doesn't fit them well. About the soldiers, MSNBC has a wall that viewers are mailing/e-mailing pictures of friends, soldiers, etc. that are in combat and taking time to read some of the emails from friends and family members about the soldier.

Geraldo is one of those that likes attention and getting there first and being number one. I call it Egomania.

I see numerous reporters embedded in the troops - and most are very diligent about NOT giving any hints of their location and doing good reporting too. Just another perspective of the war that has evolved. I don't think its going away anytime soon either.

How nice... but that is still not the same as seeing their loved ones LIVE. He may be the weakest link as you say, but he has a big heart when it comes to our troops. I doubt that any of those idiots that work for Saddam can even read much less actually understand lines in the sand!!

I didn't say it was. I was just letting you know that they are doing something. If he committed a violation then he needs to be kicked out. Our men and women can't risk that.

Ok..I’ve been brewing on this whole Geraldo subject for the past 2 days and its time to offer a new picture for the masses to consider here. I’m basically going to retract my retraction that Geraldo should be removed, going back to my original position that this is decent man that perhaps made a mistake and at most should only be reprimanded and allowed to continue his broadcasts. I will offer the following:

I saw the whole drawing in the sand thing, and can’t help but ask, “what do you really think he showed ANYONE?” OK…so he drew an outline representing the Country of Iraq. I forget....was he using a stick or something? Anyway…then he marks “his” position and we all see that he is in some relative position. What was it….southwest of Baghdad or something? Folks…that is ALL it was. A RELATIVE position. It’s not like he had a map in front of him where the position he pointed to would pinpoint their location. We are talking about a drawing in the sand! His position could have been 100 miles out of position by virtue of his own lack of “map drawing in the sand skills”. He did not tell the Iraqis or anybody else anything they didn’t already know.

I say ask the guy not to make this mistake again, and let him get back to what I saw as a great chance for the soldiers to send an “I love you home”….If you looked into the mass of soldiers, they were happy, they were appreciative, and I think they like the man.

JMO..and I’ll take the flack for it!

I also believe that the soldiers liked him. And I highly doubt that he would do anything deliberate to show the enemy their positions or to endanger them in any way. The media that attacked this was MSNBC. Heck, they had to take the spotlight from them somehow. Geraldo went out of his way to let the soldiers send messages home to loved ones.

Again i will say "How nice of him to allow the soldiers to send messages home" But i will also say, that if they felt that he was Endagering the troops in anyway then it is there perogative to boot him out.. This is WAR.. Reporters shouldnt be there in the first place, but since they are its 1 strike and your out.. JMO

The pentagon was the one that told him to leave Iraq and I support their decision. They obviously thought he did something to endanger the troops lives    I believe there are clear rules on what embedded journalists can say or do..He obviously crossed the line in the sand... Later geraldo..

I've been quite about this subject but after watching the news last night, I think they need to FIRE the jack@$$. He is one of the most arrogant, self centered persons I've ever seen! Not only did he compromise our men and womens well being, the SOB LIES!
