no i dont think so...it at least gives us SOME sort of idea and it does allow for a great deal of conversation...just think how boring it would be if we could not spend hours proving how the NHC 4 and 5 day forecast will be wrong;)

No, I think it gives the viewer a concrete illustration of the extrapolation of the 3-day forecast that they'd make anyway with their fingers or ballpoint pen or liquid paper or whatever on their computer screen or in their heads.

Keep it!

I say keep it...as scary as it can be sometimes, I still want a look into the future in some way.

Supposedly, one of the biggest reasons for going to the 5-Day was that the Navy needed more time to get ships out of port. (Maybe someone can verify that.)

Understandable, but why not jusy give the 5-Day ONLY to the Navy. There is plenty of classified stuff already. What's a bit more? :) Plus, it makes for way too much speculation from the public. Not sure I see the good coming from it. Yeah, fun for us, but it just stresses out the uninformed or marginally informed public. And how many places need more than 72 hours of notice to execute their emergency plans.

I say - CAN IT!

Mike

I think it is useless. If anyone noticed.... they changed the track for Frances a few times and Charley a few times more.

They just aren't ready to go 5 days out. Three days is plenty of time to save lives. They honestly still have no clue where its going to hit in 5 days.
