This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Need current status on gasoline availability along I-75

#1 Postby inotherwords » Wed Sep 08, 2004 6:49 am

I'm thinking about leaving for Ivan and I need to know if gas is now available at stations up the interstate. Please respond ONLY if you know for sure. Thanks.

Same here. Anyone living along I-75 please post status of fuel supplies. I did Charley direct in Arcadia, Frances not so direct. I'm sick to death of 'canes and I'm ready for a break with Ivan. I too will probably get out of Dodge.

This isnt exactly an answer to the subject, but it may help a little. The Governor issued a press release yesterday about food, water, supplies, etc commitments made by other states.

I guess the one that begins to answer the question is this:

"Between 9/6 and 9/8, 125 million gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel will have been offloaded at Florida's ports and fueling facilities. All port facilities and fueling terminals are operational."

Now, it doesnt say which gas stations have fuel, but it's a start.

Got gas easily this morning. Fill up in Nokomis, take a 5 gal gas can with you, when gas gets down to half, start looking for more.
You should get 250 to 350 miles,on the tank, getting you into Georgia.
