The Detroit Tigers have a better chance of winning the world series than the GFS verifing.

With the WNW motion and large windfield, I wouldn't be suprised if the Jamacia watches go up
at 5PM.

I wouldn't rely on GFS to predict the time of day

She's depressed today. Give her a break. We've all been through a lot the past couple of weeks.

Seems as if someone has been passing a hurricane magnet around the entire state! Unfortunately I think this path or something close to it is what we're going to see. . .

Indeed that "cone" is a ridiculous cone. Let's see, based on their cone it could hit the Yucatan, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida or South Carolina.

Nothing like making a prediction. At least Accuweather will be able to say they predicted it first since they predicted every possible location.

I really can't imagine the emotional trauma that would occur if Ivan hit storm-weary Florida, much
less the damage from a 4/5.

Well I'd never wish for a Cat5, but...

From an preparedness standpoint...I think that once a storm reaches Cat 5 out at sea, it tends to get greater respect - even if it degrades to say a Cat3 by landfall.

In other words, people take more notice and are more prepared when a Cat 3 storm that wasa Cat 5 makes landfall than when a smaller storm makes Cat 3 just prior to landfall. That may save lives.

Am I looking at this in a strange way? :hmm:

How to help...:

* Red Cross - stipulate that your money be sent to Grenada
* For New Yorkers who wants to offer any kind of help, they can carry any donations of anything to Square Deal shippers at Church Avenue and East 45th Street Brooklyn, in care of GM shipping
* Relief operations for Grenada on Trinidad are being coordinated by The Trinidad and Tobago National Emergency Management Agency and the collection point is Shed #10, Port of Spain Docks, Port of Spain by Friday 2004 Sept. 10 at Noon.
* For those of you in Toronto who want to send items to Grenada, Arlene Taylor is organizing a shipment of a container. E-mail: arlktaylor@yahoo.com
* Know of any other relief efforts? E-mail gert@gobeach.com
