Yeah, lets see what garbage Avila will get on the 5pm discussion since Mayfield and Co. are busy and won't have time to make any corrections.

Actually, Avila was the one who President Bush was standing behind as he showed him the computer models for Ivan. I wouldnt have known but my local meteorolgist here in WPB was narrating the video and said, "thats forecaster Lexi Avila speaking with PResident Bush". I hope he didnt confuse him.

Good one.

Maybe Stewart is there to meet (salute) the Prez. That way, he could look over Avila's shoulder.

today has been a historic day for the department of Commerce/
National oceanic atmopheric administration/National Weather
Service/National Hurricane Center. The president of the United
States visited the facilities at Miami Florida.

Avila-"Mr. President, see all these models here. They point to one general solution, but they don't mean anything to me. On the other hand, Mr. President, this model over here is the GFDL. This one will tell exactly where Ivan will go. Also, I'm a big Seminole fan, and whatever the FSU superensomble says is gospel, too."

Severe Flooding Situation Setting Up......

#14 Postby adelphi_sky » Wed Sep 08, 2004 4:06 pm

I can't imagine a hurricane as large as Ivan coming up over SC/NC/VA after being soaked by Bonnie, Gaston, and now Frances. If I read it correctly, the latest advisory noted that the storm would slow down once in the gulf due to weak stearing currents. Depending on where this thing lands, and I'm presuming anywhere from LA to FL, SC, NC, and VA are due for one of the worst potential flooding events in quite a while. Not to mention tornadoes and possible wind damage depending on how strong Ivan is when it hits land.

Mr. President, here's how we do it.

Take these five darts and throw them at the map.

Where they land is what we call the A98E model.
