My wifes mother has a friend that I think lives in DeLand Fla . Iam not sure where the location is. I was just wondering if that area was under the gun when Frances Or Charley hit or If Ivan hit. Thanks

Deland is just north of me. I got hit like I did by both Charley and Francis. They got hammered pretty good both times mostly tree damage from Charley and some minor structure damage in Frances. Flooding has also been a problem in areas. Send me a PM privately and I'll have Volusia F.D. check up on her.

I'm about 10 miles from Deland in Deltona.
Charley's fury was measured in minutes, but still knocked down a lot of trees and created a lot of roof damage (mainly shingles & felt). Frances blew for hours, but didn't have many trees to knock down around here, so she finished up on the roof damage where Charley left off.
We've had pretty major power outages with both storms. I lost power for 8 days with Charley & 3 days for Frances and I know a lot people right now that still don't have power.
If your interested, I made a little video that gives an idea of the wind gusts that we had around here. It is located on my personal site. Here's the link: http://www.southernairboat.com/weather.htm.
If you live in Florida with Ivan lurking, now is the time to be restock your hurricane supplies. Supplies are a little short, so you can't afford to wait.
