GOES Storm Floater 1

Nothing against the remnants of Frances, but I think Ivan warrants
both floats to cover him, similar to Frances when she was in the open seas.

Weren't they both on Frances just a few days ago? Cuz we were all annoyed neither was on Ivan yet.

dhweather said both of them were on Frances a few days ago.

I don't see the point clicking satellite images and loops of both floaters to see the same exact system.

Yep... over the weekend one had a closeup shot of Frances and one had a more distant shot.

Frances had one floater up close and one "regional" view, which helped in analyses of the environment.

That makes (a bit) more sense. If one floater was good enough to look at and known to be the storm
we were watching. It is logical to look at both floaters, however, knowing that you are able to view the
system you want to see in one, the other doesn't matter. :)
