Question from the Yucatan area

Hi to all Storm2K members!! First and as I mentioned once before I am no meteorologist but I'm surely learning a lot from you all. I have been reading all your posts and although it mighth sound like a silly question, does someone see Ivan heading this way? I've seen some of you mention Opal and Gilbert. Gilbert, I can assure you, wasn't any fun! Thanks for all the inputs. :D

Hi and welcome to S2K!! I am no Met either, but I don't see how this comes to the Yucutan.

I wouldn't absolutely rule it out. Keep watching carefully. My best estimate says the western end of Cuba or the Yucatan channel, though.

I honestly hope it doesn't get too close to the channel. Cruise ships are already diverting theirs schedules for this weekend

If Ivan manages to scoot by without being drawn into the ridge, then South America and Yucatan are possibilities. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
